Recently, the hospital invested $1.6 million in superior imaging technology. Expanding the hospital’s inpatient diagnostic capabilities enables Memorial to offer high-quality services and deliver cost-effective care to area patients. Memorial's Imaging Department provides CT scan, nuclear medicine scans, 4D Ultrasound, cardiac echocardiograms, fluoroscopy, bone density scanning and digital mammography. In 2014, the hospital acquired Memorial Livingston Diagnostics, a freestanding outpatient imaging center which provides an additional location for patients to receive CT, MRI, X-Ray and Ultrasound tests and procedures.
The hospital also is equipped with an established Sleep Disorders Center. The Sleep Disorders Center at Memorial Medical Center–Livingston offers East Texans an easy and convenient option in diagnosing and treating sleep disorders with the latest in medical technology. From the highly-skilled team of polysomnographer technologists to the hotel-like amenities, the Sleep Disorders Center is the first of its kind in Polk County. Amenities include individually climate-controlled suites with plush queen size bedding accented with premium sheets and comforters, wood furnishings, flat screen televisions and personal bathrooms with tiled walk-in showers.
Memorial's modern patient tower is unique to the Livingston community. Two floors in the tower are home to medical surgical rooms and a new intensive care unit, with room to grow in the future. The 160,000-square-foot tower was designed by local physicians and nurses to be an active part of a patient's healing process.
Additionally, the hospital has a fully integrated women's center that offers obstetrics and gynecology care, labor and delivery and digital mammography. In 2013, the hospital experienced a record breaking baby boom. In all, 452 babies were delivered at Wilma Ogletree Women’s Center – more than any other year in the hospital’s history.
With the capacity to open 200 additional patient rooms, a highly skilled medical staff, and a talented and knowledgeable group of nurses and technicians, Memorial Medical Center-Livingston is a premiere hospital located in one of the fastest growing retirement communities in Texas.
The modern facility evolved from humble beginnings. In 1950, Polk County leaders built a 45-bed county-owned hospital in Livingston to ensure the people of Deep East Texas had access to affordable, quality medical services. In 1994, Memorial Health System of East Texas assumed ownership of the county hospital and transformed it into the state-of-the-art facility known today.
In 2014, Memorial Health System of East Texas transfered ownership to Catholic Health Initiatives, a dynamic and well-respected health care organization. In becoming part of CHI, Memorial benefits from CHI's overall scale and reach as well as the exciting new ventures that CHI St. Luke's Health is undertaking with the Baylor College of Medicine and the Texas Heart Institute in Houston.
